Have you ever thought about Social Media for your online business? Have you ever thought things like Google+, Twitter, and Facebook were a dumb idea for advertising your online business? If so you should probably think about that twice. I had the same impression about Social Media awhile back when building this blog and other authority sites. I thought whats the point? These Social Media sites are useless and even though people use them how can this benefit my online business. I couldn’t be farther from the truth with this assumption. Social Media Is HUGE! Social Media is huge and it is FREE! So why would you not sign up for it? If you want some more traffic to your website and don’t have the funds to support it why not add some social widgets to your website and make a post on your blog go viral via Social Media? I had this exact same conversation with my wife parents a few weeks back. They thought what is the point in have Social Media to advertise their new found business. They didn’t realize the importance of getting their business on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google+, and other Social Media sites. I told them it was FREE for starters! I also told them it was pretty easy to setup a profile on all those sites. I also showed them how they could easily make posts sharable on their website. After explaining the true benefits of Social Media to them they started to realize the impact it could have on their business. With a few short hours they could have all the main Social Media profiles setup and sending traffic to their business for free. They could also let people share their posts online and possibly make their blog posts go viral. Overall it appeared to be a win-win situation for them. This Is Why I Started Using Social Media Too After giving them all that advise and realizing that Social Media was so critical for their business I took a look at some of my old sites and realized they didn’t even have Social Media profiles set up for them. That is when I got really busy building. Why shouldn’t I benefit from the same things as I suggested to them. It is FREE and only requires some of my time. So it can’t hurt to be Social Media active nowadays online. So that is where some of my focus is now for this blog and my other authority websites. Overall it has been helping and my ranks have been increasing. It has also increased the traffic to my sites.
